Adhoc uses your location in three places, and only when you are using it.
Finding rounds near you
On the Jobs board, Adhoc asks for your location only if you choose to search by distance. It is used to sort the list and is not stored.
Scanning at the depot
When you scan the depot's code, your phone may share where you are. It is kept as supporting information in case a job is disputed. It never decides whether your scan works.
While you are checked in
From the moment you check in until you check out, Adhoc sends your phone's position about every 30 seconds while Adhoc is open on your screen. The depot sees your latest position on the job, so it knows how the round is going. A banner on your screen tells you when this is happening.
- It stops when you check out.
- It does not run when Adhoc is closed or in the background.
- If no position has arrived for a while, the depot is told it is out of date.
Positions are kept for a limited time so a dispute about a round can be settled, then deleted. Our privacy policy explains more.
