Terms and conditions

The terms you agree to when you use this website, join the waitlist or use the Adhoc platform.

1. About these terms

These terms apply to this website and to the Adhoc platform, which is run by LMN Couriers Ltd., a company registered in England and Wales (company number 08666485), registered office 90 Nelson Road, Gillingham, England, ME7 4LL ("Adhoc", "we", "us"). By using the website, joining the waitlist or registering an account, you agree to them.

They work alongside our privacy policy, cookie policy, refund and cancellation policy and, for depots, our data processing agreement.

2. Adhoc is not open yet

Until the platform opens, this website only describes Adhoc and lets you join the waitlist. Joining the waitlist does not create an account, guarantee you a place, or commit you or us to anything. The parts of these terms about jobs and payments apply from the day the platform opens to you.

3. What Adhoc does

Adhoc is a marketplace. It connects courier depots that have delivery work with verified self-employed couriers who want to take it. Adhoc is not a courier company and does not carry parcels. Each job is a contract for services between the depot and the courier; Adhoc arranges it, holds the agreed payment terms and pays the courier.

4. Couriers are self-employed

Couriers use Adhoc as independent businesses, either as sole traders or through their own limited companies. Nothing in these terms makes a courier an employee or worker of Adhoc or of any depot. Couriers choose which jobs to accept, are responsible for their own tax and National Insurance, and may work for anyone else.

5. Accounts and verification

  • You must be at least 18, and able to enter into a contract, to register.
  • The information you give us must be true, and you must keep it up to date.
  • Couriers must hold, and keep in date, photo ID, a full UK driving licence for the vehicle they register, the right to work in the UK, and hire and reward or courier insurance.
  • Depots must be registered businesses with public liability and goods in transit insurance.
  • We check these before you can post or accept work, and recheck documents as they expire. We may refuse or suspend an account that does not meet them.
  • Keep your login details private. You are responsible for what happens on your account.

6. Jobs

  • A depot posts a job with its pickup, drops, timings and the rate it will pay. The rate is shown to couriers before they accept.
  • A job is agreed when a courier accepts it. Both sides must then do what the job says, unless it is cancelled under our refund and cancellation policy.
  • Couriers must handle parcels with reasonable care, follow the depot's reasonable site instructions, and record proof of delivery in the app.

7. Payment

  • Depots pay Adhoc for completed jobs on the payment terms agreed with us in writing, together with our fee. Our fees are shown before a depot posts a job.
  • Adhoc pays couriers the rate shown when they accepted the job, bank to bank, on the schedule shown in the app, whether or not the depot has paid us yet.
  • Prices are in pounds sterling. VAT is added where it applies.

8. Using Adhoc fairly

You must not use Adhoc to break the law, to mislead anyone, to harass anyone, or to arrange work with someone you met on Adhoc so as to avoid our fees. You must not try to break, overload or get unauthorised access to the website or the platform.

9. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Otherwise, Adhoc is not liable for the acts or omissions of depots or couriers, for loss of or damage to parcels while a courier has them (which is covered by the courier's insurance), or for loss of profit, business or opportunity. Our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to the fees we received from you, or for couriers the amounts we paid you, in that period, or £100 if greater.

10. Suspending and closing accounts

You can close your account at any time once any jobs in progress are finished. We may suspend or close an account if it breaks these terms, if a required document lapses, or if we need to for safety or legal reasons. Where it is safe to, we will tell you why first.

11. Intellectual property

The Adhoc name, logo, website and app belong to us. You may use them only to use Adhoc as intended.

12. Changes

We may change these terms. We will post the new version here, and give account holders at least 30 days' notice by email of anything that affects them significantly.

13. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
