Introducing Adhoc: courier work built around the depot

Adhoc connects UK depots with verified self-employed couriers. Here is what we are building and why we started.

Depots have always relied on self-employed couriers to get parcels out on busy days. Finding them usually means a round of phone calls and hoping the driver who said yes actually turns up.

Adhoc was built to change that. Approved depots post delivery work, verified couriers pick it up and every job is tracked from check-in to the final parcel.

Built by someone who has run the depot

Adhoc comes from years of running a courier company. The problems it solves are ones our founder dealt with first hand, from drivers who never arrived to vans that could not take the load.

“Depots need to know the work will get done. Couriers need to know they will be paid for it. Adhoc gives both sides that confidence.”

Marian Nestorov, Founder

How it works

  • Depots post jobs with the vehicle size and parcel volume they need
  • Couriers only see jobs that match the vehicle they registered
  • A rotating QR code confirms each courier has arrived at the depot
  • Pay is calculated from the parcels actually delivered

Verification comes first

Nobody posts or accepts work on Adhoc until they have been checked. Depots are approved against their company records and insurance. Couriers upload their ID, right to work, licence and insurance before their first job.

What happens next

We are onboarding our first depots and couriers now. If you run a depot or drive for a living and want to be part of it, register today and we will be in touch.
